Dog sled back and forth
We offer a unique opportunity at the St. Kateřina Resort to experience a dog sledge riding.
For some it is romantic. For others it is an adrenaline rush. But for everyone it is an incredible experience of the pleasant moments spent with dogs in the countryside. Experience the adventure and feel the charm of the surrounding countryside from a dog drawn sledge or cart, or try what it is like to guide your own sledge!
Sledge dog trail in the summer
and winter
Important information and conditions for the sledge dog trail:
In summer time dogs can run in temperatures
up to 16°C. Maximum total travel time is 1.5 - 2 hours in the row.
In summer there is always a need to consult the booking of a ride with the reception.
In winter time, dogs may run without restrictions of temperatures, it's all up to 5 hours.
Departs from: the house on the driving range.
Orders: We recommend booking dog sledging along with your accommodation. When booking onsite, do it at least 24 hours before but not later than five hours before- keep in mind that after feeding, the dogs cannot ride for at least 3 hours. The recommended shortest travel time for groups
is 10 minutes.
Clients can actively participate in hitching dogs (already included in the price).
Prior to riding alone, clients can go for a “motivation” ride on a small circle associated with
a demonstration of how to run a dog team.
4-6 dogs will be used when riding without a musher (depending on the client's ability). Required equipment (helmet, protective clothing, shoe protectors, goggles) is available for rental at the Resort.
Sledge dog trail
Four to twelve dogs are used for pulling sleighs through the snowy landscape. Control the power of a dog sledge.*
The sledge dog trail is subject to good snow conditions. In case of lack of snow try dog sledge riding with
a four-wheeler (CART DOG TRAIL).
Cart dog trail
Control up to 12 dogs in the sledge! Enjoy an adventurous and fast ride in a cart behind a dog sledge.*
A cart dog trail is subject to the maximum outdoor temperature of 16 °C.
Musher’s School
Mushing or sledge dog riding is a wonderful experience for animal lovers. During riding, you will feel the magic of harmony and communication with a pack of towing dogs and taste the sensation of the unique feeling of the freedom of explorers. Musher’s School is intended for both individuals and groups (we recommend up to 8 persons). After introduction to the dogs, their harnessing, introductory briefing and motivational drive, you will be able to drive dog sledges with 4-6 dogs.
